About The Company
Allied Fiber is the first open-access, integrated, network-neutral colocation and dark fiber superstructure provider in the United States with a national plan. They provide next generation fiber optic solutions, integrated with neutral colocation services for both domestic and global networks. The company is building out a ring around the country connecting the submarine cable landing regions and allowing for open-access interconnection.
Allied Fiber is the first in the nation to take on the ambitious task of building out a world class, network neutral, and national information superhighway. Using railroad rights-of-way, they are laying dark fiber interspersed with neutral colocation facilities every 60 miles.
The challenge was to explain what all of this means so that a person without a technical background could understand it, and more specifically, the company’s market. Many people, including potential investors, may not know what “dark fiber” is, or could not understand what a pre-fabricated colocation facility is and how it is integrated into the system every 60 miles.
We discovered that in explaining their services, they were repeatedly reverting to drawing back-of-napkin diagrams in order to help translate concepts.
This naturally led to a solution that involved visually communicating how the company works: how do they build the fiber route along railroad rights-of-way? How are the colocation facilities built, dropped and attached to the system? What does this look like?
We created an easily downloadable and readable ebook that explains the companies history, mission, and through the use of original photographs, embedded videos, graphs, maps and more, explained how the entire system works.
The final version of the ebook is 61 pages long, full of industry insight, technical definitions, over 30 pages of photographs, and many embedded videos, charts, diagrams and maps.
With well over 1000 downloads through our tracking, we were able to gauge the feedback and the overwhelming response met our objectives: to clearly communicate the company’s mission and operations to their target audience.
